THE THING

Join me in a viewing of John Carpenter’s sci fi horror cult favorite “The Thing” starring Kurt Russell.  The special effects are first rate.  If you like ‘Alien” this is similar and right up your alley.  Instead of a outer space Alien one is right here on earth in sleep mode.  A twelve man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years.  Once unfrozen the form-changing creature wreaks havoc, creates terror and has the ability to hide inside humans and animals without detection and later mutates.  The Thing could pop out at anytime and everyone is on edge.  No one knows who has the Thing.  No one is to be trusted.  No one is safe.  The team is dwindling one by one……

“The Thing” will be unthawed and awakened this Friday night and its looking for some fresh victims !  This film will be shown at my condo in Blu Ray, 5.1 surround sound on my 60 inch HDTV.  I live a half block from the Huntington Metro Station. I will provide my address/contact info to you one day prior via email.  I will have some food/drink and you are welcome to bring your own. I will ask for a few dollars as donation to help offset my costs.  I dont have too much space so I will have to limit this meetup to 6 plus myself.  Oh did I tell you “The Thing” is my thing  :)

7:30pm:  Preliminaries:  Food/drink/conversation/Jenga

8:00pm:  Showtime “The Thing”

A way cool movie from start to finish, loved the chocolate chip cookies with the m&ms in them. Even wound up getting a ride all the way back to my apartment in Silver Spring, MD; and talked about Metal Music and Concerts all the way:) truly a most enjoyable friday evening!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
