Great trails but some just dead end and a lot of retracing of steps. Hugo does a great job as a leader keeping an eye on people to make sure they are okay :-)

Hugo and I were talking about the same issue with the dead end tails. He talked like the trails are still in the works and that they'll eventually be more connected where there are more loops. Let's hope so! : )

Little long for me, but was able to return to start at halfway mark. Liked the camaraderie and it was great to see a new area and be outside among the trees and under the sky!

Just joined and saw the upcoming Purdenales Park trip. I was there a few years ago, bicycling with my husband, mid-week (very few people in park) for the first time. We separated briefly and I got lost while trying to catch up, as I accidentally got off on the wrong (and more rugged) trail. It's a very pretty park but I saw more of it that day (by myself) than I had intended to! I had the camera and a water bottle with me, but my husband had our only trail map. Hint: Get your own map... just in case. :)

I have already done this hike, so I'll probably pass.

The Preserve side of the creek is wide and well marked; the Greenway side less-so, especially the bike trails (they are a narrow "tangled mess" of trails - recommend single-file formation so as to reduce trail erosion). Some of the bike trails cut across private property near Gosling Drive, so look for and comply with the No Trespassing signs.

Beyond the pond on the West Trail (NW of Bedias Lake), the trail becomes primitive after ~1/3 mile as you start to approach Kuykendahl Road, so the pond would be a good turn around point IMHO.

Take pictures and leave nothing but footprints behind.

    Have fun!
