It's time for another night hike, and Memorial Park beckons! These hikes are super fun. We've had as many as 75 members show up for the night hikes at Memorial and Terry Hershey.
The place where we are meeting is noted by the "YOU ARE HERE" marker.
If you look at the PDF map, you will notice that the purple trail that runs the perimeter of the park leads to an orange circle on the right hand side to the right of the ball fields. We will meet in that parking lot. You will see a ton of people.
Make sure to wear closed toe shoes in case you hit a tree root or two, and be sure to bring a headlamp ($12 at Academy). As long as you're investing in a headlamp, you might as well get one with red and green light options. They are easier on your eyes when using them in a camp with multiple people.
You'll also need water and a snack. We'll grab some dinner somewhere nearby after the hike.
The night hikes are child friendly. These are good because they are lower mileage, lower temperature, lower speed hikes. They let you gauge how your child will do on one of the regular hikes. The dark adds a coolness factor that the kids seem to enjoy as well.
As always, you may bring dogs, but they must be friendly, well behaved, and on a leash at all times...no exceptions.
