Good idea to hike a new place for many of us. Yes we got some rain, but that's part of the adventure.

Sorry I have to miss; decided to test some stuff in the office this weekend. #WorkingSlave :(

Actually, for me coming from Rosenberg Hermann park is probably even easier if you have room for me and wouldn't mind the extra company of a rookie. Also, does everyone wear actual hiking boots on a trip like this one, and do most wear shorts or is it better having legs protected. I know nothing of the area. Sorry I am so out of the know.

Non-hiking boots are usually fine for Houston hikes. Shorts should be ok unless you absolutely hate having the occasional leaf or branch rub against your skin. Our hikes rarely involve "bush-whacking." :-)

You can read its Yelp reviews to find more info about the park: http://www.yelp.com/b...

I went to HS in Huntington Beach -- surfs up! Also spent time in San Fransisco, Berkeley, and Long Beach. Came to TX for the summer and still here 35 years later. :)

I'm from the Bay Area. I grew up in San Jose. This is my second back to Houston. Been here a little over 4 years now.

Looking forward to the double header! I'll be starting from the Hermann Park staging area. I have room for 3 if anyone needs a ride.

I think a 3 mile hike will do fine. I should have recovered from the 13.1 mile walk by then :-D
