BE AWARE THAT IF YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND THIS HIKE THEN YOU EITHER MADE IT TO THE CAMPING RSVP OR YOU PLAN TO MAKE ACCOMODATION PLANS YOURSELF. WARNING- YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE GROUP CAMPSITES I RESERVED UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE CAMPING RSVP.

The Hike: This is a warm-up hike for Guadalupe Peak.  People wishing to save their energy for that hike, can just do ~ 3miles into this trail ( to the fork) before heading back out the same way. The rest will do a loop from there to the Salt Basin overlook before returning back the same way at the fork.  For the route map: CLICK HERE.

Gathering Place:  Most of us will be walking from our campsite to the trailhead.  If coming from outside, first pay your entrance fee and then head to the trailhead's parking lot for Pine Springs.  See the hike map above to get an idea of the location.  We should be visible at the lot.

I would love to join. Are there any travel arrangement/car sharing from Houston?

Hi Gwennole-check with Hugo (the group leader and founder) immediately if there is any opening for this camping trip. I think there are couple of carpool choices still available from Houston at this late hour -Winnie/Suzana and Lynda. See the original posting of the Guadalupe camping trip for details. Good luck.

Is it crazy to drive to West Texas from Austin and back just for this one hike? It's at least 8h.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
