Terry Hershey is my daily stomping ground.. On occasion, I get off the pavement, using the same trail we were on...

Without a doubt, it is more exciting with HATS.

I dont think I would like to hike 10 miles on my own.

Trail was familiar but no less enjoyable. Thank you for organizing it Dan! It's great to see all the smiley faces on the photos.

The colors in the park and the weather were wonderful. I kept falling behind taking photos then walking fast to catch-up. I ended up with blisters and cramps in my toes. When you all went towards hwy 6, I retuned to the car! by the photos I should have stuck it out. Next long walk I won't take my camera and will stay with the group.... Learned my lesson.

So sorry it happened that way. I had my share of cramps and blisters and getting separated from the group on the trails. Looking forward to seeing you next time!

Just heard on the radio - tornado watch. I'm drinking a hot coffee in my dry home. Life is good. See you tomorrow.

I just got back from a 7 mile walk. The first half of the walk was rainy, but comfortable. I managed to be in the downtown Phoenicia market when that nasty squall line blew through. After it cleared the rest of the walk was cool and nice and dry.

The weather channel shows 90% chance tomorrow and 0 on Sunday. I am voting (is this a democracy.) for moving it to Sunday - same time same place.

      2 · December 20, 2013

    • Tom P.

Good move. The Sunday forecast is clear and cool with a zero chance of rain.

Dan time to make a decision and it's pretty clear tomorrow is going to be rainy and Sunday is going to be beautiful hiking weather. Let's do it.

I will suggest we go to Phoencia deli after the hike. phoenicia-deli.com

The weather forecast this morning said it's 60% rain. If it's rain, I can't go because I just got over a bad flu a couple of weeks ago.
Look forward to meet all the Houston's hikers.

I'm in but still not sure where we're meeting. My other walking group meets at the gazebo; are you talking about the parking lot across the street, the long one?

    December 17, 2013

    • Helen S.

Dan please correct me if I'm wrong...this one is on Dairy Ashford, just north of Briar Forest. If you're coming from I-10 or Memorial, you turn into a parking lot by an office building, about 30 yards from a Shipley's Donuts.

      1 · December 17, 2013

    • Dan

click on the link and use Google maps street view. There is a public parking spot at the location indicated. I do not know about Shipley Donuts.

      December 17, 2013

  • David

I RSVP's for No but might change depending on if these blisters heal from last week's hike. How many miles is this one? This is a maybe.

    December 17, 2013

    • Ann Epstein V.

10 and 3/4 miles...hope to see you there.
