Enjoyed the trail route and the most interesting conversations. We saw some awesome homes and a pretty large doe run on the other side of the creek. She didn't want to stay and pose for pictures for us, though. Everyone, please welcome new member, Bobby Goel. He joined us on this hike.

Nice walk through some residential areas, then along the coastline, and through many parks with very little tree cover. It was hot, but we were blessed with a nice breeze about half the time. Fun after event at OutRiggers. Thanks Curtis for hosting this!

I'm considering going but I'm also a beginner hiker so I'm wondering if I should start with a shorter hike??? I definitely think I can handle 3-5 miles but 10 has me a little uncertain.

    1 · June 23

    • Jodi A.

One great aspect of this group is that there is no pressure to finish the entire hike; you just do as much as you're comfortable with.

      June 24

    • Kamy

I was a beginner last year. I don't want to discourage you but I think it helps to have input. I was a beginner last year. My first hike was 9 miles and pretty tough. It was much longer than I had anticipated. Consider it'll be fairly hot and humid this time of year. Also look at the hike path and see if you could cut it short if needed. The hikes I've done weren't really conducive to that. Hope that helps.

      June 28

  • cody

I'll be headed out from 290 and jones road here pretty soon if anyone wants to join!

    June 28

  • Jodi A.

I know it's a ways off, but I'll be looking to carpool. Live in Katy--Katy, W Houston area. Will gladly chip in for gas.

    June 16

    • Jodi A.

Petar--since Yogi isn't coming, let's meet in Katy. There is a CVS Pharmacy at Westgreen and I-10 (south) or we could meet at the HEB parking lot, Highland Knolls and Mason Rd?

      June 26

    • Petar V.

I'm a fan of Highland Knolls and Mason Rd. location since I'm on Mason Rd., lol. 7:30ish ok or is that too late?

Carpool: from Starbucks at Shepherd/West Gray (easy free parking in the garage on McDuffie Street), can take 3. After-the-hike-restaurant is cool with me. Meet inside at 8. With the exception that we've at least said hello in person before. [masked]

Curtis, I'm a little concerned about the condition of the trails. Do you think they'll be too muddy with all this rain?

    June 26

I will stop by today and take a look, the forecast looks good for sunday.
