Camino de Santiago

Are any Houstonians interested in doing the Camino de Santiago? It's a multi-day walk around Spain with lots of local support and fellow pilgrims. You don't have to be Christian to participate.

Sounds fun! Any ballpark ideas what it would cost?

One of the hiking group members did this twice. She said overnight stays at the hostels were 5€ each. 3-4 course meals were around 10€ or you can prepare your own food if you don't want to eat so much food. She said it was around 25€ / day. We must arrange our own roundtrip flight to Europe.

I would love to do this. Walking the entire Camino takes 35-40 days, but there are many options for completing different stages of it. There are tour groups that can pre-arrange hotels/hostels along your route.

I would might be able to do a 7-14 day stage sometime next year.

It's on my bucket list and one of the reasons I joined HATS! 9 weeks ago I broke my kneecap, so I haven't been around, but I am anxious to fully recover and get back on the hikes.
