Have any HATs folks done a vision quest? http://en.wikipedia.o...­ It doesn't sound too far from backpacking.

I've never done this, but it does sound a lot like backpacking. I always feel more centered and grounded after a trip. (It also makes me appreciate the things I take for granted [like a mattress, a shower, good food, etc.])

No, can't say that I have. This is similar to what I would call a sabbatical. Interesting read though in light of the Havasupai Falls trip I am taking next month.
