You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Welcome to the Houston Atheists Meetup Group.
The Houston Atheists Meetup Group exists to allow atheists, nonbelievers, skeptics and doubters, as well as those on the path to atheism, to meet others just like them. We know just how hard it can be to meet atheists in Houston! We're a very friendly bunch and we welcome new meetup members with open arms and open minds.
As atheists our only common thread is that we have no belief in a supreme being. Thus we are a very mixed group, varying politically from right to left, liberal to libertarian, gay and straight, male and female, young and old, American and not. Our meetup evenings can therefore be filled with lively discussion with many views being aired.
We meet twice a month in different parts of Houston, once downtown and once in North Houston (near Fm-1960 and I-45) for those who don't wish to drive into town in the evenings. We normally meet at a reasonably priced eatery and we try to ensure that we cater for all diets - including vegan.
Our meetup members are sometimes members of other groups including the Humanists of Houston, the Humanist Association of Montgomery County (Isaac Asimov Chapter), the Houston Atheist Society, the Secular Students of Rice University, the Houston Church of Freethought, and Americans United for Separation of Church and State. However many aren't "joiners" and prefer to meet other atheists purely socially. With people belonging to such a variety of groups the meetups are a good place to get the latest news about what's happening in the non-religious community.
So, if you're interested in coming to a meetup to meet people just like you, please check out our events link which details the dates and locations of forthcoming meetups.
If you'd like further information regarding the Atheist Meetup please feel free to contact the Organizer. And thank you for taking your time to read about our meetup.
