The North Face Speaker Series presents Mark Synnott, Big Wall Climber

Wortham Giant Screen Theater at the Museum of Natural Science, Houston 6pm Reception, 7pm Speaker Series begins

Mark Synnott has a mission: to seek out and climb the world’s most remote cliffs. Join us for an evening to hear about "Life on the Vertical."

VIP ticket proceeds from this event benefit The Woods Project, a group that seeks to develop life and leadership skills through hands-on outdoor education and environmental awareness.

I've had the opportunity to volunteer for The Woods Project for 2 weekends camping and teaching kayaking to kids. It was cool to see the kids getting out of their comfort zone, away from their cell phones, and learning to rely on themselves, while getting to experience the world in ways that they haven't had the opportunity to before. From working with kids who may not know how to swim and getting them comfortable on the water and confidently paddling canoes and kayaks, to 5 day backpacking trips in the Sierras the Woods Project has a lot to offer the kids. But they could use any help they can get, especially with today's school budget challenges.

Please go out and help with the cause and enjoy this rare opportunity to see a climbing speaker here in the flatland of Houston.
