Getting Past Overwhelmed: Five Simple Ways to Get Unstuck

They say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, but how do we get moving? If your clutter makes you feel stuck and overwhelmed, getting started can seem impossible. Our July meetup will review five simple techniques to help you get unstuck and start reclaiming your space.

What a lively group this time! We had great fun and shared some good tips. I love it when I get lots of personal stories - each story helps others in the room, and help illustrate my tips with real life examples. Successful group!

Hi Anne - First congrats on getting that much paper out of your house! That's fabulous! Next, about task managers - there are lots on the market, depending on your type of computer. For Apple products, you can use "Things" which is a great program. Maybe others can pop up with recommendations for Windows machines?

Sorry for the mispelling of your name in my review Gayle, (my sis spells the other way)- but I made up for it somewhat with high marks for the meetup. Nice to meet all of you, See review so I dont have to be redundant.

Fun, upbeat, yet very informative. Lots of laughs. People get a little excited telling their tales.

I was going to take notes for my friend, Shannon. Now I can't attend. Help! would anyone take notes for me? [masked] Thank you! Nell, I'm with you on the small areas...even just one file draw! Last week I took 10- 44 gal plastic containers full of papers to the shredder!!! Talk about losing weight!!! Thank you Gayle! Would appreciate suggestions for a task manager in the cloud????

I will not be able to attend after all. But I have found that if I decide to declutter an area - I just start without giving it too much
"worry or thought" time. Then it goes easier - worrying about doing it, enables me to postpone it even more. Then when I am done, I feel like I have lost weight. It actually was burdening me down. I only do small areas at a time so that I can complete it and feel accomplished.

Janie - I'm not aware of any similar group in your area, but we're contemplating trying an online meeting format (in addition to our face-to-face meetings) in the near future. Keep an eye on your e-mail for announcements!

Gary - Gayle's presentation usually goes for about 20 to 25 minutes, followed by Q&A for up to an hour. We're scheduled to be out of there by 8:30.

Hi, I really really need this type of coaching. It has actually affected my marriage. :( But I live in Spring and Bellaire is really too far so does anyone know of anything like this going on up here? Much appreciated.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
