Hey Gang, lets check this out! Sunday Streets HTX are events around Houston where a street is blocked to vehicle traffic and made available for the public to enjoy. The idea is to create a space for walking, biking, socializing and provide a family friendly opportunity to be physically active.
A part of White Oak in the Heights will be opened from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The street will be blocked from Heights all the way to Fulton. I'm kicking around ideas for what we can do and will post them a little later.
What I thought we could do is meet at the Blue Line Bike shop at the corner of White Oak and Columbia at 11:00am on Sunday. They have a "Before I Die" wall on the side of their building for people to write on with chalk. We could meet there, write some, and then take a walk down White Oak and maybe get lunch at one of the many food places. Then walk some more. I'm open to other ideas as well. My cell # is[masked] so please text or call if you can't find us! See you Sunday!
I found an app that allows me to text to a group of people. It's called GroupMe and I thought it would be good for anyone who thinks they might be late and may not be able to find us. It allows me to send a message out to the group whenever we change locations. You can "join" this group by going to this URL:
This is purely optional!
