Come and learn the traditional dances of Hawai'i taught by world renowned hula master Frank Keli'i Chang. You will be enchanted by the myths, legends, language, dances and history of the Hawaiian people. There are many students of all races and background that come together on Saturdays at the Houston Community College Central from 10:00a.m. – 12:30p.m. We also perform and compete at various selected cultural events and hula competitions in Texas, California and Hawai’i. Wow where can I start? First of all, you will be learning basic hula steps. All hula schools have a slight different way of teaching hula basic steps. You will learn the traditions of my teachers in class.

You will also learn the customs and protocol of hula, ie. where hula began, what happened when hula was n band in the 1800's, what hula steps are used while others are not in different situations, etc... Read more
