Beautiful weather.  Beautiful models.  Beautiful photographers.

Announcing another fantastic mega TFP session!  A great opportunity to work with many photographers and many models, all for free!  Experiment with different styles.  Work with new faces.  Have fun and socialize!

Models of all ages welcomed!

****If enough people donate $1-$5, I'll be able to provide burgers and drinks etc.  If you want to volunteer to bring something (sponsors?) please let me know!

****does anyone have a portable grill we could use?  I don't know if the ones there are functional (or clean)

Tom Bass Park in Pearland offers a lot of excellent venue options.  Large open grass, tress, walking paths, playgrounds, water and a pier.  Talk about wonderful opportunites!

And what all can you do with a mere public park?

Models:

We're asking you to bring a wide variety of wardrobe and crazy stuff.  Dresses, wedding dresses, gowns.  Fashionable stuff, with big hats and high boots.  Sporty stuff, full uniforms, equipment helmets.  Crazy stuff like costumes.  Stuff that is nice.  Other stuff you wouldn't mind getting dirty.

Remember, wild wardrobe inspires great work!!!!

MUA's:

We are looking for crazy style, not just blush and eyeshadow.  Paint a large star over most of the face.  Big bold bands of colors.

Photogs:

We are limiting attendees to a ratio between models and photogs.  Otherwise it becomes way off balance.

The easiest way to guarantee a slot is to have models to RSVP, putting your name as a referral.

Lots of quality photographers and an excellent group of models. The location itself was somewhat limited, but overall a quality shoot and worthwhile venture.

My wife and I both had a wonderful and productive day of photography. We captured some great images and I hope the model's love the shots as much as I do. Thanks Anthony I know these things are a lot of work.. Let me know if you ever need any help with a project.

Good shoot - a lot of participants and pretty well organized. Let's face it - trying to control that many photographer's and models is just about impossible.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to get to you Cindy :( But I know what to do next time. I'm only focusing on those I talked to and want to work with.

Yes that park is HUGE Aime. I walked from one end to the other.

Each team has to come up with a concept that's beneficial for that team because remember we building portfolios so it would have to benefit all of us. Winning team takes it all!

THat is true Ramona! UNLESS we made it fun and made a contest out of it! Where each team puts up money. We would get somebody to judge and all the money goes to the winning team? So it will be fun but yet we would be doing something worth while to build our portfolio and still have good photos out of it. People won't flake if money is involved.

@ Faith...You may have to decide to work with a select few. Like u mentioned, some may not be serious and just doing it for fun. Some want to actually work a lot, some just part time working occasionally. But in the end great photos to present to agencies.

Very good idea Faith. But here is the dilemma. You have ppl that RSVP and flake for whatever the reason, photogs and models. So what if one person or multiple ppl on the team flakes leaving the rest of the team members high and dry. Not everyone is good about keeping there RSVP current to events. Also, it's difficult to know what the goals are for everybody. But I'm sure that can be figured out easily from the amount of effort put in at the shoot, what work(gigs) ppl have done already. You

It would be nice if we could build teams. Have a makeup artist, photographer, hairstylist, wardrobe stylist and model in each team. This will allow us to focus more on building a portfolio rather than just shooting. I know its all about having fun but the goal is to build a portfolio that we can be proud of. I can perhaps add these photos and take it to an agency because it focuses on the niche and area I desire to go in. So we won't be wasting time. I hope that make sense. :)

Yea very few live in Pearland. I live on the outskirts so I know Tom Bass Park. I just didn't know where exactly the pier was on the lake but I walked until I found it! I enjoyed meeting you all. We definitely need to arrange doing a studio shoot and narrowing down the amount of people that come because of course it is impossible to have Over 100 people in one studio. And perhaps more focus to building a portfolio that can fit into the niche of each person. My 2 cent :D I enjoyed meeting u all!

Again guys, sorry for the confusion on the addresses. It should have been better specified on the entrance and location. I really apologize for those who made the trek out and left in frustration :(

People get lost. It happens. Nobody's perfect.

    April 1, 2012

  • Ramona

@Richard...I got lost as well as quite a few others. Getting a link to a satellite shot from space to the map of the park is a bit difficult to navigate. But I'm not an astronaut. Hard to fault people for not knowing where to go. Many I am sure don't live in Pearland or near some of these big parks, at least I don't. I live in Kingwood and have no reason to know anything about Tom Bass park or any other park bc I don't hang out at them often enough to care whr they are located. Just my .02 cent

People need to learn to print and review maps rather than fully relying on GPS, especially with multi-section parks like Tom Bass, George Bush, and Terry Hershey.

Really enjoyed the meet-up today! I ended up assisting more than photographing so I may end up with very few postable pictures. I brought 3 models and they all had a great time. Thanks for organizing it, Anthony!

Great turn out! A huge thank you to Anthony for organizing this one. Kudos to all the models that came out who were pulled in every direction. The wardrobe changes were good. Having another makeup artist would have been nice to ease the line. The body painter work was good. Photographers had one on one time and I think we were outnumbered by the models. The sun was issue lol.

  • Anthony

Hey everyone! Thanks for making it, for those that were able to find it! I'm SO sorry... I was totally unaware of all the confusion on where different peoples GPS's were taking them, and the total inability to get from one side to the other! I'm glad for those that made it out!! :)

    March 31, 2012

  • Faith H.

You just took up wasted space. How inconsiderate! I'm sorry you couldn't make it Amie. I was looking for you. I just made it home.

  • Faith H.

This was my first TFP meet up and it was better than I thought I think some things could be tweeked but for a meetup like this it was organized better than I thought it would be. I would like to say this though because I was very disappointed. For those that RSVP'd (photographers, models, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, hairstylist) and didn't show up SHAME ON YOU! And I hope you don't do this with your clients!!! Don't RSVP if you not going to show up. There are people that want to come!

Oh well, I just missed getting in on this one. I can say that Tom Bass section III is awesome, and I've done 3 shoots there.

I'm going to ask everyone to meet by the pier. There's a couple places that are better, but it might be confusing depending on parking. There's only one pier there (check the map link).

yeah these fill up fast. IF we can get more models to sign up, I will gladly open more spaces, so I'd recommend getting on the waiting list and recruit!
