Tom Stoppard's Arcadia

Arcadia Friday, February 15, 2013  - Saturday, February 16, 2013
7:30 PM  to 10:00 PM
Commons  Will Rice College
Rice University
6100 Main St
Houston, Texas, USA

Covering every topic from safe sex (lending one's bicycle) to scientific progress (there's no rush for Isaac Newton, we were perfectly happy with Aristotle's Cosmos), Tom Stoppard's all-encompassing masterpiece seems written for every student out there. Whether your interests lie in literature, math, history, science, landscape design, romance, or just making fun of academics, and academia in general, you will find both something to laugh in Arcadia. But also something to think about, because under all the humor, this play also presents some thought-provoking ideas, about love, human nature, and our world's inexorable decline from order into disorder.

I definitely need to see this again with more seasoned actors.

I have been mulling over the problem of telling folks how to find Will Rice Commons. The best thing I can think of is to post a link to a map of the university and point out that Will Rice is #78 on the map. I will be parking on Stockton, south of University Blvd. Just before 7:00, I will be at the Turell Skyscape, #9 on the map
