Covering every topic from safe sex (lending one's bicycle) to scientific progress (there's no rush for Isaac Newton, we were perfectly happy with Aristotle's Cosmos), Tom Stoppard's all-encompassing masterpiece seems written for every student out there. Whether your interests lie in literature, math, history, science, landscape design, romance, or just making fun of academics, and academia in general, you will find both something to laugh in Arcadia. But also something to think about, because under all the humor, this play also presents some thought-provoking ideas, about love, human nature, and our world's inexorable decline from order into disorder.
Welcome to the meetup space for the newly created Houston Super Secret Science Club - our goal is to create a cool, fun, sexy and illuminating monthly meetup focusing on Science and issues related to Science in and around Houston... This could range from meetups discussing everything from the pros/cons of Computer Technology to a debate on Evolution vs Creationism, to the Space Program. I'd like to make these meetups entertaining and interesting and anyone can join, you don't need a Phd, just some curiousity.
This is an an independent Science Cafe group Inspired by (BUT NOT AFFILIATED WITH) New York's world famous Secret Science Club and the Science Cafe movement (promoting science related activities throughout the world) we hope to hold regular meetings on cool and interesting scientific topics, along with arts, music, libations and poetry!!
