Special Tour of the HMNS Paleo Hall for the Super Secret Science Folks

  • June 9, 2013 · 1:00 PM

This is a repeat of our January 5th special tour of the paleo hall, same special price only for the Super Secret Science Folks ... this repeat tour by special request. Give yourself enough time ... we will be heading out into the museum at 1 PM sharp!

Meet us a 1 PM in the museum main hall or join us for dinner an hour earlier at the Black Lab at 11:30 AM. Those in more of a hurry for lunch can always grab a burger at the McD inside the museum.

If you are a member of the museum, there is no charge for this tour. If not, the museum has tickets reserved under my name (John Moffitt). No limit - bring friends! Use my name and get a $7 ticket. I'll bring a few special props with me in my trilobite bag. This is your chance for the secrets behind the museum ... your Night At the Museum experience. I'll add another event for people who want to meet for lunch at the Black Lab just before we head to the museum. Feel free to join us again even if you were there on January 5th ... myself, I could do this a thousand times ... always something new.

Cheers, John

Thanks John! Very enjoyable tour. You've won me over on Trilobites.

I enjoyed it and hope everybody did as much. This was my 2nd tour for this group and I expect there will be a 3rd one when people ask for it.

John, I had such a good time I had to immediately join the Super Secret group! Looking forward to the Egyptian tour whenever that is put together. Had a great time and happy to have met other science fans in the group.

Thanks for the tour John. Very interesting. Now I know who to ask if I have any additional questions about trilobites!

This is my first outing with this group and my first time at HMNS. I'm teach Physics and Astronomy (nuclear astrophysicist by training) so I won't be very helpful on this one, but happy to be a student again.

People can start letting me know if they would like a similar tour of the new Egypt Hall after all of the recent lectures on the subject. Or we might just tackle that after the paleo hall.

I'm an archaeologist and I worked with the research team last year who's artifacts are on display, so I can probably answer a few questions/ talk about that site as well!

Sounds great. Those stone tools, with some exceptions, all look pretty much the same to me.
