Screening - Cave of Forgotten Dreams

Screening of Cave of Forgotten Dreams 3D Swith introduction by Sabrina Dahlgren.  This is a beautiful film on the Chauvet Cave. It features my favorite French caver Jean Clottes, who will be coming for his 2nd HMNS lecture on January 24. (He first came in 2003.) Chauvet is the cave whose access was immediately restricted after its discovery for conservation reasons as lessons had been learned from Lascaux.

In 1994, scientists discovered a cave in the south of France perfectly preserved for over 20,000 years and containing the earliest known human paintings. Take a glimpse inside the Chauvet Cave in this spectacular 3D documentary by Werner Herzog. Since this cave is not open to the public, the film offers the only way to view this marvelous site.
