I decided to start this meetup group because I just keep meeting so many people who genuinely love the BBC television show Doctor Who in the Houston area. We always seem to end up sharing common interests, so I decided to start a group to share my love of the show (past, present, and future) and all things sci-fi with others like myself. If you love Doctor Who, science-fiction television, movies, and books...or if you can just get on board with ridiculous conversation, I want you here. If you dream of secretly stashing yourself on the Tardis, you're not alone. If you're an aspiring sci-fi writer or a compulsive nerd, this group is for you. If you go to cons and dress up or enjoy steampunk or have anything relatively nerdy to contribute, come on down. It's okay if you're new to Doctor Who or an old hand or even if you've only seen Torchwood. We welcome all ages, race, gender, species, etc. If you want other people to be unabashedly nerdy with, then I definitely welcome you. In case you were wondering, I'm not limiting us to just Doctor Who because of the potential for general sci-fi goodness that you get if you broaden the nature of this group. Most Who fans seem to share a love of science-fiction in general and I don't want to exclude those who have never seen the Doctor in action during any time period. Doctor Who is the longest running science-fiction show on television, so chances are someone else in the group has only seen parts of the series or has serious questions about the Doctor's past just like you! Come as you are and leave with new friends and ideas to ponder regarding time travel. We will meet at least monthly to celebrate our love of sci-fi - but, above all else, our love of Doctor Who. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
