Critical Mass Houston

The critical mass meets on the last Friday of every month at the Market Square Park in Downtown Houston (see map below). The address is 301 Milam. We meet between 6:30 - 7pm and the ride usually takes off around 7:15. Depending on the route and where our final stop is, the ride is usually complete by 9 or 9:30pm. See you there.

This was one of the most fun group events I've ever attended. I felt I was part of a Tour de France peloton! Would have been nice to know where the group was so I could have rode with them but I'll figure it out next time!

Are you guys going to try and meet before the ride starts? If yes, where? Or will you be trying to meet at the after-party?

All can meet in front of niko niko's kiosk

Is this "age-appropriate" for a 14 year old? Same question on the after-party.

Yes, the ride is age-appropriate for a 14-year-old. The after party might be a different story

The idea is essentially guerrilla cycling. Getting a 'Critical Mass' of cyclists together to take over the roads. Keep the group together, roll through the lights, and once a month take the road and bring awareness to cycling. -- This is a very large group of all skill levels, many novice riders, which is awesome, but can be dangerous at times. Keep you wits about you. Ride safe. Have fun. Bring a small backpack with some water and food if you like. Very social event.

    Is this fairly low speed?

What pace and other conditions should we plan for? I'm choosing between road, mountain, and around-town bikes...

    June 24, 2013

    • Jeffrey

The pace is pretty much whatever you want. It's just a large group of riders from all walks of life so you can ride whatever bike you are comfortable riding for a 15-25 mile ride. Being a little cash in case you want to grab something at one of the stops.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
