Who organized?
Jay Villa

This month we will be downtown shooting buildings and some of the local areas of interest such as Heritage Park and The Aquarium. Those who want to eat beforehand can meet me at the restaurant for lunch at noon. Those who don't can meet us at 1 pm to begin shooting. We will then walk to the areas of interest. I will be posting a map online very soon.

* Come with an appetite and meet me for lunch beforehand.

* Bring comfortable walking shoes. We will be parking by the restaurant and walking to our areas of interst.

* I'm sure there are no parking charges on Sundays downtown, but bring pocket change (or a credit card) for the meters just in case. The laws are always changing.

* Bring your tripods

* If you have wide angle lenses, this is the time to bring them out.

* Please check back for the updates. Specific details about this meetup are subject to change.

* In the event of rain, the meetup will be cancelled.

    •  Had lots of fun. New to town, so everything was an experience for me!
    •  yes, we should do this more often ! great meetup !
    •  I think it was the wrong time of year for this king out ouside shoot. Not enough color out in the park areas.

       I really enjoyed this meetup. My feet are a little sore, but other than that it was great.

       I was hoping to see a bit more exchange of ideas. Everyone was friendly but I'm as guilty as anyone else. I am always a bit hessitant to share settings because of my unsureness. It would be great to see some level of discussion of some of the best shots regarding how they were taken.
    •  The weather turned out really nice and everyone came out to play. We had about 30 or so who participated. Some came as far as Beaumont, TX. I felt saftey in numbers today. Even though we split into groups. Since there were several of us taking pictures it was motivating to take a picture where we maybe wouldn't have before. Being a different angle or scenery. Some one on a bicycle rode by while we were strolling along the bayou and asked, "are you taking good pictures?" I think the simple fact that we were out and DOing something (taking pictures) made the answer to that question, 'Yes we are!' Great job everyone, see you next time. .Aaron Courtland. | PossibilitiesAC.com |
