Lets once again get out those tripods and take some wonderful night shots! This time our goal is to capture some Streaking Car Tail Lights (and headlights too) but I think we may also be able to get some wornderful skyline photos as well!
We'll meet at 8:30 on the top floor of the parking garage for the Hobby Perfomring Arts Center. From there I think we can get some good images of I-45, Allen Parkway, and perhaps even the Houston Aquarium Ferris Wheel and Downtown Houston as well.
The parking garage is open all the time. When events are scheduled there (and I haven't found anything on their schedule that night, then parking should be about $2-$4 but I would bring more just in case, and bring $1's beacause it may be an automated system.)
Don't forget to bring your tripods, flashlights, and remote releases if you have them. I'll try to bring an extra tripod and/or let people borrow mine some if someone doesn't have a tripod. Also, if you don't ahve a tripod, bring a small sandbag or beanbag to rest your camera on. One more thing, PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING SPACES ALONG THE OUTER EDGES OF THE TOP FLOOR. Lets save that area for us to stand to do our shooting.
Email me if you have any questions. If you haven't done night shots before, "DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK!" Someone will help you and if you can't find anyone named someone, find me, I'll do my best to help you.
I enjoyed the shoot, just wish it would have lasted longer.

What could have been an excellent night with a nearly full moon deteriorated quickly when the management found out we were there and asked us to leave. Had he been contacted and insurance waivers been signed, we would have been welcomed.

Can anyone tell me for sure what street the entrance to the the parking garage is on. It appears to be off of Walker on the southwest side of the building. Is that correct? Thanks.

Also, I do have a heavy duty video tripod to let anyone borrow for that night if someone does not have a tripod, it can be used for photography. Just let me know if it will be needed & I will bring it !

Don't forget to to set your camera to 'Mirror Lockup' in your menu & if it's a windy night, remove your neckstrap from camera. Keep anything from moving your camera while in long exposures !

@Camellia do you know how to set your self timer? If you do you can set it to 2 seconds push the button and walk away :) No camera shake

Camellia, you can get by without a shutter release, so you don't have to go out and buy one.

I have a tripod, but I don't have a shutter release yet... I've never done any night shots so I can't wait to learn. :D
