At least once a month at HoustonPhotowalks.com, we drum up some crazy idea for a place to photograph and practice our photo techniques. We're a fun bunch, no pressure, no stress. Come ready to learn from other photographers AND share what you know with others.

This group is perfect for new camera owners learning photography techniques, novice hobby photographers, and old dogs that have been shooting photos for a long time.

As often as possible, our meetings are in "Interesting and Unusual" locations that other photography groups might not to go (or prefere to avoid :).

Our group has 3 main principles that guide our way:

Fun and Safe (we want you to have a great time, and not die).

Honor the amateur photography clubs that came before us. Their enthusiastic interest in photography paved the way for the technology evolution that allows us to capture light today.

Education, of ourselves, each other and the community. We learn our best techniques from each other, and we teach the community that photographers aren't jerks, criminals or terrorists.

If you are interested in learning more about photography, here are some of the camera and photography classes we teach through the year:

• Building Art - Photographing Textures and Patterns

• 12 Ways to Improve your Photography (Part 1 of Camera 101)

• 12 MORE Ways to Improve your Photography (Part 2 of Camera 101)

• Understanding White Balance in DSLR Photography

• Demystifying How to Buy a DSLR Camera Lens

• Long Exposure and Night Photography Primer
