The Houston Arcade Expo invited us back again this year with another great discount on entry tickets!

For one entry fee, you can play and photograph all the video, pinball and vintage console games you want for free! The last two years, the inventory filled two hotel ball rooms with coin-ops!

We will be meeting for dinner nearby, so you can play all day, have a nice dinner and go back. But there is no set meetup time for this event, its come-and-go all weekend long! :)

Really a great event that I want to catch in upcoming years too. Lots of open machines- no real waiting at all- always lots of good stuff open & you could play as long as you liked. Very surprised more people have not caught on to this yet. Total pleasure.

Would like to have a little idea of what to expect. Any comments on what it is like at event surely welcome since this is my first time. Was there much waiting in line last time?

  I usually get there mid-day to late afternoon on Saturday each year ... and there was never a line of people to get in, maybe one or two. And in years past there were so many games that there isn't really a line to play -- except really really popular games might have one or two people waiting. The crowd is a very mixed bunch from old cranky guys like me to little little kids ... everyone really friendly. The music is a little on the loud side sometimes. Not sure if this answered your question.

Unlike typical photowalks, we won't be meeting as a group for this one, you can feel free to come-and-go as your schedule permits. Alex and I will be there, so if you see a guy with a camera chasing down a 10 year old, come say hello. :)

Our HPW discount is still good BUT ONLY thru Oct 31 (according to email from Keith @ show)- so make sure you make the deadline if you want to take advantage. Show hours are Fri 6pm-2am and on Sat ALL DAY from 9am-2am.
