Rails Essentials

@jwo will run a short series on the essential gems every Ruby/Rails developer needs in his/her arsenal. This month: devise authentication.

Friends and Family Code

@codeodor - The idea is to do something stupid with Ruby -- implementing `friend` (like the C++ keyword). Then show how it was accomplished and mention a couple of ideas where you can use the same strategy for potentially more useful things. It boils down to using set_trace_func, one of my favorite methods in Ruby which I don't think many people know about.

Please RSVP to get a headcount for Pizza -- graciously sponsored by  http://www.moleculesoftware.com -- they're hiring, check them out!

It was a great talk and helped a Ruby beginner understand the languages' applications.

It was a good meeting with a mixed group from beginner to professional Rubyists.

Hey everyone, thanks for coming out last night. If you have any questions about what I talked about, feel free to post them here or email me at [masked].

Also, I'd love to get some feedback (positive or negative) on my presentation and myself, so if you have any for me, I'd love to hear.

Send me an email, post it here, or post it anonymous somewhere if you'd rather it be anonymous. I'd just like to know how I can improve. =)

    Thanks!

    Sam

Presentation: Slightly beyond my skill but set_trace_func seems useful. Showed you enjoy experimenting with RoR. Thanks!
      Yourself: Thumbs up!

Thanks Debbie! It can be, but keep in mind the specific example I demonstrated was just a silly way to use it. =)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
