Magic: The Science of Wonder

The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents beginning February 26. (See link for details). Many prominent skeptics began their careers as magicians - James Randi, Richard Wiseman, D.J. Grothe, Penn & Teller. Magic can inform us about the way people are deceived, or deceive themselves.
NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH THE GROUP, MAKE SURE YOU BUY YOUR TICKET FOR THE 1:00 PM SHOWING
Link: http://www.hmns.org/e... " Among the many intriguing artifacts to be featured are torches for fire eating; magic lanterns and automatons; Harry Houdini's trademark milk can and water escape trunk; Harry Blackstone's "Zig Zag Girl" prop; Mike Caveney’s linking coat hangers; and items from the acts of Doug Henning, Penn & Teller, and other superstars of magic." Due to the cost, I am posting this as a meetup to see if enough people are interested in attending as a group. The tickets may be purchased through the link above. Please note that the museum has specific times for slots for buying a ticket. Please do not RSVP *Yes* unless you have already purchased a ticket, or definitely plan to attend. Public - Adult $27.00 Public - Child $22.00 Public - Senior (62+) $22.00 Museum members - $15.00

Sorry that you did not see anyone. A few of us waited near the ticket office until about 10 minutes after 1:00 p.m. There was no lecture (for the general admission), but there were live demonstrations scattered throughout the exhibit.

Enjoyed the exhibits and shows, but didn't see anyone else from the group there.

I suspect too late that I must have gone to the wrong show! Either that or it was just a small performance open to the public and just for entertainment. I did not see anyone there that I recognized. I expected a lecture and educational demonstration. Thanks anyway. Bob Gross <[masked]>

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
