Houston Skeptics Fall Meet

Hello there! We're having our November meeting at the Ragin' Cajun, which continues to be a popular place. I've reserved the back room once again. The meal/beverages will be self-service at the counter. I've also talked to the manager, and he will turn off the speaker and music that was a bit distracting at the last meet-up there. A special guest from New Hampshire will be attending this time, "kittynh" from the JREF forum. She has worked for James Randi for several years, as a volunteer at the Amazing Meetings and for his foundation. Also, if his work schedule permits, a new member will also give a short talk about alternative medicine. As before, if your work and travel schedule don't permit you to get there right at 6:30, please come anyway.

I am not sure how many were there. Lot of information -- really knowledgeable speaker and audience generally.

I had a great time. Can't believe this was only the 4th meetup for this group. It was fun to hang out with other scientifically minded Houstonians. Great discussion and conversations.

Good conversation and people but the speaker system in the next room was bothersome.

Great discussions and speakers. I really enjoyed the open "talk about anything" atmosphere created.

Liked the central location, hope the next meeting is inside the loop or at least inside the beltway.

I thought Clay did a great job discussing alternative medicine as it applies to his practice, and really engaged the group.

I really enjoyed the format (even though I missed a LOT of the lecture since I didn't realize I was supposed to order up front and wait for my number to be called).

I look forward to these in the future.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
