New Meetup: Special Event! Banachek, Miracles of the Mind! Mentalist Performance

Announcing a new Meetup for Greater Houston Skeptic Society!

What: Special Event! Banachek, Miracles of the Mind!

When: January 16,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
Hilton Americas
1600 Lamar St Connected to George R Brown
Houston, TX 77020
[masked]

At the age of 18, Banachek became a test subject at a heavily
funded university psychic research facility. For two years,
scientists closely studied and tested Banachek's psychic
abilities. Using only his self taught skills as a Magician and
Mentalist, Banachek astounded the scientists and made them
believe.

Banachek, a noted mentalist and skeptic, has been closely associated with James Randi throughout his career, and has worked with Penn & Teller and Criss Angel. You can read about him at his website at http://www.banachek.org/nonflash/index.htm, and his Wiki page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banachek.

Note: There are 20 tickets available for the Houston Skeptics group at this showing, which will be blocked in the first two rows of the auditorium. To secure a ticket, you must go to http://www.skeptic.magicbyjamie.com/ and purchase your ticket by December 18. After that, the remaining tickets go on sale to the general public. You may still purchase them, but the seats will not be guaranteed with the group. This is a small venue, holding 50 people, which is the best way to see and interact with a mentalist. The cost is $25. I have seen Banachek perform twice, and saw him conduct the preliminary Million Dollar Challenge test to Connie Sonne (self-proclaimed psychic and dowser) at the Amazing Meeting in July 2009.

The show starts at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The program lasts until approximately 8:30 pm.
