Welcome to the Washington/Hudson Heights Book Club, we're glad you're here. A bit about us…
We're uptown readers in the Washington and Hudson Heights neighborhoods who love to read. We're looking for other book folk to read with us, share food, drink and have conversation. We're laid back, pretty hilarious, and love books. Nothing stuffy about us.
About Book Club
We're a group who mixes it up by exploring a range of authors/genres -- fiction, memoir, debuts, classics, cultural, horror, current events, etc. Books that introduce new authors, revisit favorites, add different perspectives, get you out of your reading routine and possible comfort zone.
Who Picks Books
You do! Each month we take turns; selecting a book from a different genre is encouraged. When it's your go round, think about the difference between "a good read" and "a good book for discussion." One that will spark conversation, a book that'll raise questions/issues we can't stop talking or laughing about. You know that book! It's how we keep it fresh.
We get together in members' living rooms over wine/beer/bevs plus lots of chips, salsa, and hummus. Kicking off your shoes is highly encouraged.
We meet once a month on a Friday. A relaxing welcome to the weekend.
Some of us will have dogs, others cats. We'll let you know ahead of time if that's the case. Our dogs are small and super cute.
Kindly drop your spot if you RSVP'd and cannot attend so those on the wait list can participate.
Happy reading. Shoot us an email anytime if you have questions or suggestions.
