Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Extension and Railway Trestle

This is the north extension of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail extension which runs over the old railway trestle in Rosendale, NY.   Here is a link to some information about the trail:

http://wallkillvalleylt.org/index.php/rail-trail/wallkill-valley-rail-trail-extension

We'll pick it up from the parking area at the Binnewater Kiln Parking area which is north of the railway trestle.   (Click on the "Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, Rosendale" link above for the location of the parking area on google maps).  From there, we'll head back to the trestle and then we can decide whether we want to head south or back north.

I enjoyed the walk on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Extension and Railway Trestle, and I give it a 5-star rating!

I had a great time! This was the first time meeting a donkey and I didn't realize how much there was to know about them. Walking with them made me see my environment in a different way -- from their point of view. They have a bad reputation for being stubborn, but like Steve said, they're just being cautious and don't take anything for granted.

I've also never been to that part of the Rail Trail before and it was very different from the bucolic scenes I get from my area in Gardiner. Can't wait to ride my bike there! I will definitely do this again!

I can honestly say that this has been one of the best groups I have ever joined, not only was it fascinating learning the workings of donkeys, but also how patient and considerate the group was as a whole.thank you all, Nancy

My preference for the donkeys....Flint and Flame, Romper and Stomper....

However, it all depends on what is easiest for you!

Unfortunately my transmission went and I hope to get my car back Monday morning. I have to be in Kingston at 6pm on Monday. Is it possible to stop by on my way up to meet the donkeys? Where exactly on 9W are they? (Coming from Cornwall) I still can't wait to meet everyone and the donkeys!

Hi Steve, i was wondering if i can be late again, i think i might be able to make it around 1.00pm. Do you come back to the farm and work with the donkeys after the walk or you do something before?
Please give an idea what the schedule is so i can join at least for sometime, thank you.
You asked about meetup groups, well... remind me to tell you a funny story. I forgot last time.

Hi Katherine. We're looking good to schedule more events through the Summer so there should be plenty of opportunities. :-)

Steve, I still hope to meet up with you and those darling little critters. Other plans on the 13th. I passed on this info to a woman who once owned a few donkeys herself.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
