Hometown: Hudson Valley

The novel. Also interested in writing plays and screenplays.
Unpublished in fiction. I've written reams of technical and other non-fiction material (for work) which was "published" by and for the organizations I wrote for, but to now try to publish my non-fiction will be a new adventure.
I've participated in a couple of workshops and belonged to a terrific writing group that alas disbanded when most of us moved from the area. The companionship of other writers, the honest but constructive criticism, and the deadlines all really helped my work progress.
My favorite books are The Brothers Karamazov, Tracks (Erdrich), and The Radetsky March. I'm currently reading a non-fiction book on India called "In Spite of the Gods." It's terrific, as engrossing as fiction. Fiction I've recently enjoyed includes: "Wolf Hall" (Hilary Mantel, superb historical fiction), "Au Bonheur Des Dames" (Zola, set in Paris's first department store), and The Poison Tree (Erin Kelly -- brilliantly plotted!).
Hi! So glad there's a writing group in the Hudson Valley. I look forward to working with you! - Teri
