Synopsis:
La Mariée était en noir - 1968 in French with English subtitles
Truffaut est en pleine écriture de son livre-entretien avec Alfred Hitchcock lorsqu'il réalise La mariée était en noir. Cinq hommes, dans un jeu qui tourne mal, abattent le marié à la sortie d'une cérémonie de mariage. Peu de mystère, c'est l'histoire d'une vengeance, lente, raffinée et surtout utilisant les visions différentes que portent les cinq hommes sur la femme idéale. Chacun mourra, non pas suivant sa faute, mais conformément à sa personnalité. Fergus (Charles Denner), l'artiste, mettra en scène et transformera sa propre mort en œuvre d'art.

Legendary director François Truffaut crafted this interpretation of William Irish's suspense-filled novel. Julie Kohler (Jeanne Moreau) is a woman whose revenge skills are tested when her fiancé is brutally murdered by five men. Stoic and focused, Julie decides to track down all five culprits and engineer their demise. Truffaut's Golden Globe-nominated thriller is accompanied by composer Bernard Herrmann's menacing musical score.

Aida DadianIt was very enjoyable... especially when we discussed the film , Madame Greta was informative and clarified things we didn't understand. We discussed the plot, the acting ... we agreed Jeanne Moreau was kind of severe in her quest for revenge... I must add that the whole conversation was in French.
