Rosendale Rail Trestle & Williams Lake

We will be walking across the Rosendale Rail Trestle, which like the Walkway Over the Hudson, is a repurposed rail road bridge (though not as long or high). After the Rail Trestle, we will walk back north to the Williams Lake area.

Total walk will be about 5-6 miles. The terrain is almost all completely flat with virtually no elevation gain.

We'll meet at the Binnewater Kiln Parking Lot, off Binnewater Road. The parking lot will be on your left if coming from Rt. 213 in Rosendale (and is only 0.5 miles or so north of Rt 213). There is ample parking for any who want to go.

I tentatively changed to a yes so I get notification about cancellation (should it happen). If I change my mind again, I'll let you know, Paul.

Hi all - there will be rain on Saturday, but the chance of precipitation during our scheduled time is low (<20%). If the weather changes (and the chance increases) I will send out a notice at least 2 hours ahead of time to all who are RSVPed.

I hope I can do this walk, per Dr said to do some exercise so this will be my first venture.

Hi Judy - the good thing about this walk is that the trip from the parking lot to the trestle is pretty short (half a mile or so). You may decide you're up for the trip to the trestle, but not the after trip to the lakes area. If that is the case, we have to back track to the parking lot to get to the Williams lake area, so you can come for just part if you want.
