This group is open to anyone interested in learning about and practicing mindfulness meditation. Each meeting includes some basic instructions and guided meditation. This approach, based on the accessible teachings in The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness, by Mingyur Rinpoche, focuses on using our daily lives and the challenges we face as fertile ground for cultivating a peaceful mind and open heart. Mindfulness meditation draws on the wisdom of ancient meditation traditions as well as western medicine and neuroscience to train the mind to be calm, focused, attentive, flexible, and efficient. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15 p.m. at Graymoor Spiritual Life Center in Garrison, NY. Please make sure to check our holiday schedule for any upcoming changes.
