Overall a great learning experience. It's always nice to have a place to meet other people in this industry. The only downside would be that there wasn't enough reviewers. I did not feel that I had enough review time. What can I say, I'm greedy :) However, I did fly up there for this review and wished I had more to take back with me.

I liked the indepth time with others, but wish groups weren't divided randomly and instead better represented people with similar experience levels in order to better 'see the competition'. I also wish we got the chance to talk to more than one person from the agency for a different perspective. Overall I felt it was useful, Event was well-run and organized, and free beer is always good.

There are more spaces available! If you are in the neighborhood or can make it here in 20 minutes, come on over!

I'm pretty sure that commenting "I'm going" does nothing. You have to be the first person to change your RSVP. Found this in HELP:

Manual Waiting Lists give each Member a first-come-first-served opportunity to change their RSVP to 'Yes' each time a spot in the event opens up.

    Manual Waiting Lists:
-an automatic email will be sent to all on the waiting list, when a spot becomes available.
However, any member (on that waiting list, or not) can RSVP into that open spot.
This means that whoever is quickest to sign up, can do so.
-there is no follow-up email saying "sorry, that previous spot is now full".

Thanks for shedding some light on this, Sam. Unfortunately, either everyone else is too quick or the RSVP status never ceases to show that I am on wait-list, no matter how quick I am to login. This is just frustrating.

I reeeeeally wish Meetup paid attention to their user feedback. There are so many UI problems (like with the waiting list) and never an adequate response from them.

Sadly, I feel like I'm going to be stuck at work, so I will give up my spot.

I'm having a difficult time understanding how to go from waiting to going. Do we just RSVP?

    May 8, 2013

  • Lucas Garcia De P.

    I didn't receive any email yet :(

  • Claudia R.

    Hi, I'm going.

    May 8, 2013

  • Sam D.

I got the same email saying : Act quickly! A spot just opened up for Huge Design Events for "Behance Portfolio Review @ Huge." Say you're going before someone else does.

Shouldn't it go in order? When a spot opens up the 1st person on the wait list should get it...I was on the wait list very early! Hoping to be able to go!

  • Sam D.

wait...is everyone on the waiting list getting the same email and whoever gets to the website first gets the spot?

    May 7, 2013

  • Chen J.

I got the same email, where we can confirm a spot?

    May 7, 2013

  • Claudia R.

What am i suppose to do when I get the email???

    May 7, 2013

  • Anuja S.

I got a mail saying a spot opened up and I should say 'I'm going' if I want to secure it. Well... 'Im coming!' ... I don't know how else to confirm!

    May 7, 2013

  • Huge B.

Joseph, you will get a notification email from Meetup.com letting you know you are off the waitlist

    April 29, 2013

  • Joseph S.

I really look forward to this. How would we know if we get off the waitlist and get a spot though?

    April 25, 2013

  • Kristen H.

please add me to the waitlist for this event. thanks, Kristen Hess ([masked]/[masked]
