The Pitfalls of Process: Break the Rules and Start Innovating

Most of us have heard the saying, "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."  As companies strive to innovate while still maintaining the status quo that day jobs are designed to support, it can be hard to encourage "out of the box" thinking and drive innovation.  The kind of creative thinking that drives ground-breaking design often requires a cultural revolution within a company to truly move beyond prescriptive processes.  Disruptions are generally not favored in the workplace, so how can we embrace chaos to help create great end results?

Managing Director of UX at Huge LA, Todd Lefelt, will present real-world examples of the pitfalls of process and solutions for managing internal teams, working with clients, and encouraging creativity to ensure collaboration and innovation happen. Q&A will follow and refreshments will be provided.

Location: We are located at 6100 Wilshire Blvd, 2nd Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90048.  When you arrive, please check in with staff on the first floor.  Need help finding us? Call[masked]-7700.

Real world examples already exist, notably, lean, which Ries did NOT invent but stole from Toyota. In fairness, Ries gives passing credit.
