Psychology & Interaction: Understanding Your User

The foundation of good User Experience design lies in understanding fundamental user patterns and behavior. It’s no surprise, then, that having a good grip on the principles of psychology helps UX designers build more successful interfaces on every level, from aesthetics and flow, to functionality and content.

Join Huge and Carnegie Mellon’s John Zimmerman, ReD’s Jun Lee, and NYU’s Erica Robles-Anderson as they discuss human behavior as it relates to systems of digital media, and the psychological theories that lead to better user experiences and more natural human/computer interaction.

I thought the speakers were smart, but I wish these things were more interactive and visual. Show us some interesting projects, don't just talk about them. Diagrams, screenshots, psychodynamics, etc. Also speak a bit more clearly. Some speakers were hard to understand.

Agreed. I'm more of a visual learner which, combined with the microphone issues, running dishwasher, and overall lack of projection of the speakers' voices due to the vacuum that is the crazy large and open room, made it difficult for me to listen to and learn anything.

Yes more volume, and speaking directly into the mics, would be great next time.

Of course not, most events have at least a 50% attrition rate. I would Venture this event is only about 10% attrition. But only way to be sure is to do a head count. :)

      We're close to 110 right now .. 40 - 50% attrition is about right :)

Hey, does this thing start at 3:45 or 6:45. Above it says 6:45 but the reminder I just got says it starts at 3:45. Which is correct?

    August 12, 2013

    • Huge B.

It starts at 6:45 ... not sure why the reminder said 3:45
