A Children's Sunday School
(Also, see the "Pages" tab for more about us.)
Humanism is the dominant philosophy that arose from the Age of Enlightenment in Europe and the United States during the 18th century, a major period of political reform and scientific discovery. It continues to guide our path into the future as a way of life based on scientific skepticism, civil rights, and morality without myth and superstition. Our children will make that future, so we want them to know the principles of Humanism. If you are interested in participating in a Humanist Family Cooperative to provide a Sunday school alternative to religion for your children, let’s Meet-up!
Our classes are not a “drop-off” baby-sitting school, but a place where parents participate with their children in stories, music, and science projects that reflect Humanist values. Having at least one parent attend with their child or children insures full supervision and involvement. Parents take turns leading the classes with help from other parents.
Dale McGowan returned to Albuquerque on April 17, 2010, and held a great seminar to kickoff classes again!
We recently suspended regular classes, but we will get together for hikes, field trips, and socials with our kids, so watch our calendar for future events!
You can also attend the meetings of the adult members of the Humanist Society of New Mexico, which are also listed on our calendar. Go to www.humanistsocietyofnm.org for more information.
If you share these interestsand values, let’s MEETUP!
