Odyssey of the Mind Team Meets Every Sunday

HSGP has an Odyssey of the Mind After School Team!

The team meets on Sunday mornings @ 10:00 in the kids' play room at HCC.

It isn't too late for your kids! Join us at the next OOTM team meeting this Sunday at 10:00 AM. (When there is a Sunday Speaker meeting on the same day, the doors will open at 9:00 for that. On Sundays with no other event going on, the doors will open just before 10:00.)

Odyssey of the Mind incorporates the STEAM initiative providing challenges to students where the arts, math, science, engineering, and technology as well as writing skills are needed to solve the long-term problems. 21st Century Skills are reinforced while meeting Common Core Curriculum standards. Even NASA understands the connections for the future by sponsoring a problem every year.

Odyssey of the Mind After School – non profit organization's Mission: To promote creativity, divergent thinking, team-work skills, and self-confidence in youth by providing them the opportunity to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind Program in an after-school setting which requires the use of the Humanities when demonstrating team solutions. http://odysseyofthemindafterschool.weebly.com

I really want to be active in this group, but I live in North Phoenix. Are there any similar groups closer to me?

Hi Wendy. I don't know any of the other groups in our region, but perhaps Brian can help you. If you click on Brian in the right column (he is the event host), you can send him a direct message. Or, if you are coming to the Humanist Sunday Speaker Meeting on Feb 10, you can speak to Brian in person. Good luck--it is a great program!

The kids get out of class at noon, so I will be picking them up and hopefully en route shortly thereafter, so my estimate would be to arrive approx 1:30~ish, and yes it is located at 53 N MacDonald Mesa, AZ 85201 (map->) http://goo.gl/maps/Bi... I would be happy to exchange contact information in a private message :)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
