Help Homeless: Crochet Bedrolls Out of Plastic Grocery Bags

Project to Help People Who Are Homeless

Recycle plastic grocery bags into bedrolls.

Join fellow Humanists in a class where Anita Romanowski will teach us how to crochet these very useful items. If you do not wish to crochet, please come and help cut the bags into strips. Let's get together in community and enjoy each other's company while we create something of value to people who are homeless and sleeping out of doors.

These bedrolls are comfortable, lightweight, and provide good insulation from the hot or cold ground.

Please bring lots of plastic grocery bags and good scissors for cutting them into strips.

If you wish to crochet, please bring a 10mm crochet hook.

Snacks and drinks welcomed and appreciated!

Sorry guys. I'm totally bummed that won't be helping. I really wanted to. Sadly,I won't be back in time.

Snacks are also available to purchase at the honor bar, which helps to support the HSGP coupon club. Candy, chocolate, mints, and sunflower seeds are available for a small fee.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
