Inquiring Minds:Coming Out of the Humanist Closet.

Event: Inquiring Minds

Topic:  Coming out as a humanist.

Host:   Kevin Moriarty

How do you make the transition from being a secret humanist, to being an open humanist; without suffering significant negative backlash?

Have you ever been asked to join a religious celebration? What do you say?

When someone sneezes what do you say?

How can you be honest about being a humanist without offending others or ostracizing yourself?

If you know some things that work, come share them.

If you have some related stories, come share them.

If you have some ideas that may help, come share them.

There has to be a way to live with integrity while maintaining social harmony, help discover that path.

Discussion created comfort and relief to our “out of the closet experience” with family, friends and colleagues--even to those whose “out-ted” years are behind them. Much was gained with the insight and shared stories instilling a deeper appreciation for our “Humanist” life.
We are not alone in our humanity.
    We are one.
We are a "global" all-inclusive family.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
