Climate Change: How We Know What We Know and What We Might Do About It
Our member, LuAnn Dahlman, is a scientist at heart and an educator and communication specialist by trade. She studied geology and education at Arizona State University, and then taught high school science courses for most of a decade here in Mesa. She has since worked on several national-level education projects, developing interactive curriculum materials for textbooks as well as professional development courses for educators.
LuAnn currently works for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, the same agency that brings you the National Weather Service), in the Climate Program Office. She contributes content and infrastructure to Climate.gov, and leads an in-reach effort to help folks across NOAA find and use the climate information they need.
The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix presents their Sunday Speaker meetings twice a month on Sunday mornings.
We enjoy the company of our fellow Humanists and a lecture from a guest speaker and topic discussion ending by 11:30 a.m. Our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Humanism.
