Professor James Richardson presents
A Tale of Two Humanists-Separated by 1600 Years
Professor Richardson will discuss the Roman poet Lucretius, a follower of the Greek philosopher, Epicurus, and the 16th century French essayist and philosopher, Montaigne. He'll also make a few comments on David Hume, an 18th century Scot who drew on both in his comprehensive A Treatise of Human Nature.
