Sunday Speaker: Dina Gerdon, Sojourner Center, Domestic Violence against Women

Dina Gerdon

Development Coordinator, Sojourner Center

Since 1977 Sojourner Center has provided shelter and support services to tens of thousands of women and children affected by domestic violence. Through empowerment, families discover hope and have the opportunity to build new futures free from violence. As one of the nation's largest domestic violence shelters, Sojourner Center is a tireless advocate for domestic violence victims and survivors.

The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix presents its Sunday Speaker meetings twice a month on Sunday mornings.

We enjoy the company of our fellow Humanists and a lecture from a guest speaker and topic discussion ending by 11:30 a.m. Our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Humanism.

Doors open at 9:00 am. Breakfast is offered for sale to members and guests for $5.00. For coffee only, the charge is $1.00. If you would like to have coffee and/or food, please pay at the welcome desk by the entrance door. Of course, donations are always gratefully accepted as well.

For your convenience, the membership desk is immediately behind the welcome desk at each Sunday meeting. Stop by to join or renew your membership in HSGP, or to update your records such as your email address.

Thank you! See you at the HSGP Community Center!

Not only informative, but a necessary reminder of the ongoing issue of domestic violence. It doesn't go away just because we forget how prevalent it is.

Hi All. Just a reminder that being a member of the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix (HSGP) Meetup Group does not mean that you are an official "card carrying" member of HSGP. Official membership requires the paying of annual dues. This entitles you to borrow books and DVDs from our Robert G. Ingersoll Library, the right to vote for board members once a year; and provides you with the satisfaction that you're helping to support one of the largest nontheistic communities in Arizona.
