Donations Drop-off for Winter Solstice Celebration/Fundraiser Anytime 11am-1pm

We will be ready and waiting to accept your donations!

Donation drop off this Saturday November 24th anytime between 11 am to 1 pm at the Humanist Community Center.

This Meetup really isn’t a Meetup in the sense that people need to come and stay for the whole time. It’s just to let you know that this is the designated time that you can bring your donations to the Humanist Community Center for our Winter Solstice.

Do you have unique new or like new items that would be perfect for someone else?

As you’re getting your house ready to welcome guests for Thanksgiving, or as you’re doing some shopping on Black Friday – if you come across a great item you don’t use any more at home or find a wonderful bargain at the stores- bring it to our donation drop off so we can remarket it for the Winter Solstice Marketplace!

Are you a “regular” at a business or service provider?

We would love to receive gift cards for restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores and boutiques. Ask the places you frequent often if they would be willing to donate (HSGP can provide you with a tax letter for them).

If this Saturday doesn’t work for you, we will be having more of these drop offs up until the week before the party or you can email Rebecca (via Meetup) to schedule an alternate time.

Please RSVP via Meetup to let me know if you’ll be dropping by (remember, you’re not expected to stay for the duration of the Meetup). That way I’ll know how many people to expect. (obviously, even if you don’t RSVP, you’re still very welcome to drop by to drop off some donations!)

Thanks – hope to see you Saturday!

I'm new to the group. What is the solstice marketplace fundraiser and what sort of things are you looking for? new? gently used?

Hi Deborah, The Winter Solstice Celebration (Dec 15) is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We will have items for sale, some arranged in gift baskets, etc. We will also have door prizes. We have any kind of desirable items--some new, some not. Also, we will have some gift cards. There will be lots of fun activities too. There is a Meetup for the event, but you have reminded me that I need to fill in a lot of details!
