Star Swamp Reserve is a 96 hectare Class-A reserve, featuring Tuart, Jarrah,Marri and Banksia woodlands. In the western extent of the reserve is Star Swamp which is a semi-permanent wetland; four hectares in size and fringed by paperbark trees. The reserve is abundant with flora and fauna and the winding tracks and trails provide the opportunity to witness the variety without leaving the paths. The Star Swamp Heritage Trail runs north-south through the reserve providing interpretative insight about the history of the area. The Henderson Environmental Centre was built on the principles of sustainable living with eco-max toilets, large windows encouraging the use of natural light and a gazebo for outdoor activities. The centre is equipped with kitchen facilities (including fridge, hot water urn and microwave), trestle tables and chairs, white board and environmental displays.
