I do not believe that there is a God separate from the universe, who created the universe. I don't expect a life after death. I do not have such a sense of self importance. I try to live well the life I have now and am grateful for it.

We still need to revive interest in the Society and find new members.

Thank you Des. Unfortunately I will be in Saudi for holidays during February, but I'm looking forward to future meetups in the new year. Cheers :)
Hi Des, that seems a huge Q. Maybe find out what the WA Education Dept. SRI guidelines are. Also find out how the HSV began their process.
Hi Des, regrettably university work is conspiring to keep me from being able to attend the AGM. I do know that Kylie Sturgess and David Frank are planning to attend.
... [continuing from my last post]
We hold a number of regular events, which can be seen at http://uass.asn.au/calendar/![]()
. I plan to add them all to this meetup group on a regular basis when I have the time.
Nice meeting you,
Ash
Fortunately the Society is thriving; our membership has grown over the past couple of years.
Unfortunately, it appears the creationists under the banner of "Zion Praise Harvest" have managed to book one of our lecture theaters for 5 hours each Sunday for a "private church service". The club is in the process of complaining to UWA Venues about this.

Hi Des,
I don't need to ask my family about their beliefs regarding the "little piece of flat bread", because I'm well familiar with their beliefs from growing up.
They are steadfast Catholics who believe that the Pope is infallible, the communion is transformed into the blood and flesh of Jesus, we are all born with "original sin" and all those ridiculous concepts.
They're all pretty smart people; it's so frustrating to see their irrationality when it comes to religion.
Don't worry, I just googled it, didn't think o that.
Yeh, thanks mate. What suburb ples?
Picnic sounds good.
I haven't been in Perth long. Can y give me some idea how to get there?
Thanks.
Hi Des, thanks for the greeting.
I'm not an atheist, I believe in God. So, you may ask, how can I be a humanist? If God is a human being then that's not inconsistent. God is God because people worship him, because the Bible says so, and because the Church endorses the book.
