Cbus Rationality- Popular psych studies, and where they go wrong

Rationality is about the science of reasoning, and acting effectively to meet your goals. This week Don Sutterfield will lead us in a discussion on popular psych studies, what they show, and what they get wrong. Studies will likely include:

-Milgram's Obedience to Authority

-The Stanford Prison Experiment

-Asch's Conformity Experiment

-The Robber's Cave Experiment

Parental Warning: We are a very casual group. There is often swearing and discussion of mature issues.

Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality:
-This fanfic is the most engaging way to learn what "rationality" is all about

-A community blog on rationality. The Core Sequences are most relevant to our meetup group. Also covers topics like AI and x-risk.

Everyone please bring a ferret.
