Central Ohio Secular Parents Support Group

Being a parent is not always easy and a one can feel very overwhelmed and alone. With this in mind, the Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) decided to create this support group. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where parents can interact with other parents from the secular community and learn from one another.

We will be discussing topics, but you are welcome to ask questions, share your experiences, or suggest future topics.  Children are welcome to attend, please email Johnda at [masked] to confirm ages and number of children attending.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided, but please email ahead of time if you have allergies or diet restrictions. We will be accepting donations to offset the cost of refreshments. Some toys will be provided, but your children are welcome to bring some of their own.

Our first meeting will be on July 28th, we will meet every fourth Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at the Westerville Public Library in the study room unless otherwise notified. The Westerville Public Library is located at 126 S State St, Westerville, OH. We look forward to meeting you at our first gathering!

So is today's meeting still going to be at the Westerville library, and further meetings at the HCCO office? Just checking. My attendance today depends on an early naptime for my niece and nephew, whom I'm babysitting. If we make it, I'll have my six-year-old plus a 3.5-year-old and an eighteen-month-old.

What about the HCCO building in the room where we have ge night? Could that be made available to us?

It got approved, I don't know the room number yet. Waiting to hear back on that info so I can pass it along.

For the HCCO space? We don't use a room number. Refer to the family game night event for a description if you need to use that. I'd be along to unlock the space.

Just another FYI, don't forget we will be meeting in Meeting Room B. Or, just head toward the sounds of me scrambling to get ready and children playing ;)
Does anyone have any refreshment requests?

Hi everyone, I am very much looking forward to our next Meetup and I do have one topic for discussion that I need to bring up to all of you concerning our September meeting. Please be brainstorming about possible places where we can meet as a group because the two rooms that can accommodate us at the Westerville Library are reserved. No worries about October, we will have meeting room A again.
Also, my priority with this group is to facilitate a space where we as parents can open up about successes as well as struggles and share resources and advice. If there is a topic that you would like to see brought up in our group please feel free to bring it up yourself or if you are not comfortable with that please email me at the address above or message me on facebook.
