This sounded really cool but is this the same Pam Popper as mentioned here? If it is - I am confused about the rationality label for this meet up. If it's not the same Pam Popper, sorry . -

Alexandria, I certainly appreciate your questions and level of skepticism. We are not necessarily endorsing everything that Dr. Popper does; however, as one who was once extremely skeptical of a plant based diet such as the one she advocates, I can say that the research she cites for optimal nutrition is sound and there are many, many studies with the same results. I have not heard the podcast you linked to (and will), so I cannot reply to the claim that nutritional deficiencies cause all mental disorders if that is the claim being made--however, as a mental health professional myself I can vouch for the fact that there is substantial research linking certain deficiencies to anxiety and depression.

We want to provide an opportunity for those interested in learning more to attend an event where there is an opportunity to ask questions of someone who can answer more than any of us regarding nutrition and health--and refer to the research to support the claims so that we can all make the best decisions for ourselves. Again, I encourage you to attend and ask all of the skeptical questions you'd like!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
